End the begin

So it starts. The last few weeks of my current job, transitioning into a new one at a new company.
I'm anxious, nervous, scared, and happy.

Long time- no post...

Wow- what a long time it's been since i've even thought of posting.

Let's see: 

My company moved to a new location- and i worked very hard on the move.  It was really stressful and exhausting.  In fact, I got the flu

The flu: I was one of the many who diligently went out and got the flu shot in the early fall, but still got the flu.  It was bad.  I haven't been that sick in a long while.  I had to take a full 5 days off from work, which is far from what i'm used to taking off.

And I turned 38.

Wow.  38.  This was hard for me.  Not so much becuase of the number, but because of where I am in life.  Am I everything I could have been?  Am I everything I should have been?

I can't answer these questions- and that bugs me. 

We've had a weird winter- hardly any real cold days... lots of dreary wet days, but nothing really "winter like."  Spring is coming up fast, and i'm determined to make the most of it and the summer.

So- look out for lots of mobile-phone camera pictures... and hopefully more posts in general.

on keeping up to date

I'm really going to start trying to add updates several times a week now (i don't even want to pretend that i will try for each day).

I know that no-one reads this except for a small group of family members, but it's more for me than anyone.  It's just a modern day version of a diary or journal.

I've outfitted myself with the tools necessary to be able to update where-ever and whenever i may be- i just need to stick to it.

We are going to be moving our office in Feb (to a location closer to my home).
I went to the office for the first time today- the lobby is really nice.

I'm switching cellular carriers (from Sprint to Cingular), so I need to sell my Sprint Treo 700p and all it's accessories to pay my cancellation fee.

The phone is in good condition (has always had a silicone case and screen protector on it)-

There's a park in Georgetown with tennis courts, a playground, and a dog park.

There's a tree there with this HUGE fruit- size and weight of softballs.  They were all over the ground- one can only wonder what would happen if you were hit by one!

We stumbled upon the American Society of International Law.  A respectable organization, i'm sure- but their acronym sound a bit like a bad word, though-

An Autumn Saturday

We went for a nice walk in Georgetown- fall in the city is my favorite.  It was a weird weather day- a front came through- the sky was crazy with clouds and the wind began whipping around.

Been quiet for a while

I've been quiet for a while.  Tired, really.  So busy at work.

I did sell my laptop, though- to my dad! 

Last weekend was great weather for a walk, so John and I walked down Massachusettes Ave-

We went to the "taste of georgetown" on Saturday.  BIG dissapointment.  In fact, i don't really know what it was about or what you were supposed to do.  Was crowded, though:

They repaved the tennis courts in georgetown- pretty.... ooohhh..

Saturday with Justin

I had some work stuff i needed to do on Saturday (John was working) and I invited Justin along.

Down in Georgetown, the rowers were out for a race-

   

We then went for a walk, soon ending up in a bar playing pool.  Neither of us are very good.

We ended the evening by taking a nice walk, and sat in the park in Dupont Circle.  We kept seeing these little things moving real fast in the bushes.  On closer inspection, we found that they were dozens of little tiny mice- about an inch long (without their tales)- they were so fast, but so cute!
